Of Course The Internet is (not) Telling Me the Truth!

The internet is full of information. From countless food posts to online source textbooks, the internet can really take up a lot of your time. Social media sites such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and Tumblr have millions of online users posting something everyday, like a meme. Memes today are everywhere, and won't stop spreading until humanity loses all faith in itself and decides to ultimately ban memes. A meme on the internet can't always be trusted, as it could be something fake and would be classified as an illegal meme.

As you can see in this Facebook post, this user posted this picture and wrote "This poor dog was badly burned and disfigured trying to save his family from a house fire. One like=1 prayer. One share=ten prayers." Well..as you can see there is actually a piece of ham on the dog's face... let me rephrase that...THERE IS A PIECE OF HAM ON THAT DOG'S FACE. If you knew that there was a piece of ham on that dog's face instead of a burn scar, well good job! You weren't one of the over 100,000 people who shared this post and actually believed it. 

There was one I didn't want to mention, and that was 4chan. 4chan is a social website where users can post anonymously in different threads. This site has caused  many problems to others from time to time, like when multiple gaming streamers were told to delete System32 on their computers to "reduce the input lag and remove malware" which would actually render the computer completely useless if deleted. Thanks to 4chan, people had microwaved their  iPhones to charge them had communities worried after saying that their taps and sewage contained dihydrogen monoxide, which is...well....water, as in H2O.  

Now, before we venture too far in the dark of the memes (transformers reference..haha?) we need to see the light of the memes. Well actually there is no light in memes, just good memes that wont need a trigger warning. Good ways of sharing an internet meme are by posting it with crediting the creator or just making it yourself. If something isn't trustworthy on the internet, or seems suspicious (meme or link) you should try these solutions:

-Is it from a not well known/insecure website?

-Check for malware in files

-Does it look too good to be true

-Use you mind and common sense knowledge

These might help you in the future while browsing on the internet, but you should always use your common sense! This is all for now...sooooooo seeya!
